DIY Roundup: Make Your Own Coastal Style Lamp

My apartment’s decor has always been a combination of modern and coastal with a few little Pacific Northwest flourishes thrown in for good measure. Lately, though, I’ve been doing some decor tweaking and leaning more towards coastal elements and influences. In my search for the perfect ocean-themed accessories I came across a few really cool DIY lamp tutorials with a coastal twist. Check these out:

Rustic, Sea-Inspired DIY Floor Lamp

Inspired by a floor lamp from Anthropologie, Erin Loechner from HGTV put together this amazing DIY tutorial. This lamp as a very industrial look with a subtle coastal feel to it. I really love the hanging lantern as the lighting element, and the tripod look is really cool!

DIY Drift Wood Branches Lamp

This coastal lamp tutorial comes from the blog Completely Coastal. You’ll have to be pretty handy to make this floor lamp, but the result is totally worth it! I love how natural and unique this lamp looks.

DIY Driftwood Table Lamp

If you’d prefer a smaller lamp made with driftwood, this easier tutorial from Sweet Something Design is perfect. The best part is, the driftwood is secured with twine so if you get bored of this lamp you can easily take off the wood and start a new project!

DIY Rope Lamp

If you want to add a little color and texture to your lamp, try this jaded rope lamp tutorial from Sew Dang Cute. Just buy a lamp (it could be really ugly, no one will know when you’re done with this project!) and hot glue rope around it. You’ll have a beautiful coastal style lamp in no time!

DIY Seashell Lamp

This is probably my favorite coastal lamp idea. This diy tutorial from Info Barrel shows you how to make the lamp from scratch (no updating an old lamp allowed!). I just love the look of the sand and seashells inside the glass base.

I’m a huge fan of coastal style. If you are, too, you might want to check out a few of my other coastal style decorating posts:
